9.23am or 9.23pm?

Beautifully composed image, with all visable details carefully considered and equally excluded (specifically the figure).

There's a clear tension between innocence and antagonistic suggestion in this work. The title prepares you for confrontation, yet the decadence of the chair and equally the table brings you back down to a calm state of serenity - where you can carry on observing the work at peace and comfort. Undulating backwards and forwards, battling with provocation and then concerning fragility, you arrive in a space enchanted by the bare minimum; the word anatomy in the title enhances this because what we are being presented with on a visual level is the female figure without any major fabrication.

Perhaps almost truelly caught up in this notion of a see-saw tension, the sharpest point of focus in the frame is found on the chair, where in comparison the figure is much softer, receeding into the distance of the room. The figure's hands are tentatively positioned, protecting her body from extreme exposure. We don't know where she might have been looking, whether she was unknowing to such sensual suggestion or whether she was directly in combat with this and the camera... if we go by the title I think are minds are minds have been made for us.

9.23am or 9.23pm?

Are we found looking or are we enticed to look?
